Rio de Janeiro

The beaches
The beach of Ipanema is also frequented by a lot of people at night: they practice sports, gather at the kiosks, ride their bikes on the cycling way or make use of the special lighting to relax or have a good time. At a walking distance from Ipanema, the 4,5km of the Copacabana beach are also an irresistible attraction.

The tourist spots
Standing at the peak of the Corcovado hill, 710 meters high, the statue of Christ the Redeemer is one of the most known monuments in the world. You get there by boarding a train that goes all the way up to the slopes covered by woods, from where you can enjoy dazzling views of the city.
A lift takes you to the Sugar Loaf. From there, you can enjoy the town’s beauty and the beaches from both Rio and Niterói, which stretch all along the horizon’s line.

Nature Sports
Both the perfect weather and the unique nature of the city create the ideal scenario for several open space sports: jogging, cycling, gliders, parapente, fishing, sea diving, windsurf, surf, body boarding, trekking, climbing and golf.

Soccer
The Maracanã stadium is the world’s largest soccer stadium and a sports complex, including a gymnasium, racetracks, and swimming installments.

Art and Culture
The Municipal Theatre, with its majestic marble stairs, serves as stage for widely known artists during seasons of concerts, operas and dance. The Naïf Arts Museum shelters an important collection of primitive art, having more than 8.000 works in catalogue. The Modern Art Museum exposes over 1.700 works of art, among paintings, sculptures and illustrations of widely know Brazilian and foreign artists.
